Hayley Orrantia is an American actress, singer and song writer. Her most well-known role is Erica Goldberg from the TV comedy series "The Goldbergs". However, she considers herself mostly as a musician. According to her, music is her first passion. It is something she has been dabbling at since she was 9 years old. When she was 12 years old, music became seriously enough to warrant formal training. After experimenting with music, she decided to record the album with covers at the age of fourteen. From that moment on she's never looked back. Orrantia has been born in the USA however she has Hispanic roots. She is proud of the existence of Hispanic roots, despite using English only and never lived in Mexico. To keep her heritage alive she's enrolled in Spanish. Also, she writes songs that incorporate the Spanish language. "Hasta Verte", a Spanish-language song that she has recorded, is a good illustration. Orrantia was a contestant on The X Factor during its inaugural season, which aired in the summer of 2011. Orrantia won the first season of The X-Factor following the submission of an YouTube audition video. She received four "yes" votes from the judge during the live stage audition in Seattle. Her initial audition was for solo performance, however, during "Hollywood week" she was paired with three other female vocalists to form a trio during the remaining auditions. They were eliminated during the 5th week during the live performance.
