Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is a Mexican American performer, singer and actress. Her mother was her primary caregiver in the USA and she was subject to numerous racial slurs that left her feeling like an unwanted person. The confidence started to build at the age of nineteen when she appeared in an audition. She was praised for her singing. It not only boosted her confidence but was also a change in the direction she pursued in her professional career. She was a graduate of New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In the year 23 she started her professional career, making her debut at the Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films in You've got Mail. The greatest achievement of her career was in the role of The Lady of The Lake in Spamalot's initial Broadway production. In addition to being the only actress to get the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by critics. In the following year, she was cast as Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy.
